SUP – Activities

The Stand Up Paddle surf (SUP) is a sport that allows the navigator to glide across the water by using a long paddle while standing on a surfboard.

A bit of history:
This activity began in the decade of the 1960’s when the beach boys (the surf instructors) on the Waikiki beach used their long boards and canoe paddles to assist the tourists that were learning to surf.

In the SUP, you can paddle on the open ocean, in the ports, on lakes, rivers or any large body of water. This activity allows you to enjoy the different landscapes and distinct aquatic mediums.

Advantages:
The advantages of SUP are paddler’s range of visibility, due to their height and standing position above water. If the water is transparent, you can see to the bottom, as well as the surface of the water.

Anyone can experience this sport, young beginners as well as older veteran paddlers.
