Paragliding
Paragliding in the Andes foothills is a recreational sport with panoramic views of Mendoza city and mountain peaks. A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft guided by a bilingual licensed pilot. Both pilot and client are seated and suspended below a fabric wing. There is no free-fall or jumping involved. Launch the craft from Mt. Arco, 1700mts high, and enjoy a 20 minute tandem flight while taking photos of the desert oasis. Drinks, snacks and bathrooms are available at the landing pad, located at 1100m.
Flights launch daily, early morning and late afternoon, with precaution given to the weather reports. Comfortable clothing and closed shoes with good traction are required. Safety equipment, windbreakers, helmets, gloves, sun block and sunglasses are all provided. This half day adventure can be enjoyed year round. Mt. Arco is located just 10 minutes outside the city of Mendoza. The pilots, who carry radios, have over 15 years of experience.
